The music you can hear at Slunovrat defies labelling. The festival features original solo artists as well as bands across genres – from guitar rock to contemporary folk music, electronic, or world music, both from Czechia and abroad.
Welcome Scene in the free-of-charge zone gives less renowned, but no less great bands a chance to present their music to the festival audience.
The title of the Salon is a tribute to Mechtilde Lichnowsky, an extraordinary woman and wife to Prince Karl Max Lichnowsky, the last pre-war owner of the Hradec Castle. Mechtilde was an avid supporter of cultural and social life, she befriended many artists and authored numerous books. Mechtilde is an epitome of the values the festival strives to live up to.
We believe that good food is as important as good music. Therefore at Slunovrat you can find a variety of food stalls with regional as well as world cuisine. You can choose from intricate menus to simple dishes or vegan delicacies popular even among meat-eaters.
We also provide good coffee, regional beer, and wine from our household winery Krásná Hora. Some people claim that Hradecký Slunovrat is in fact a food festival with excellent music.
